Welcome

Counselling & psychotherapy is a collaborative process that provides an opportunity to develop a greater understanding of yourself and your difficulties. It aims at increasing awareness and implementing changes in your life. Crucially it offers a supportive relationship until the point at which you feel your difficulties have been addressed.

Initial Assessment Your first session with a therapist will focus on giving the therapist a sense of who you are and what your experiences have been thus far. Your therapist will work towards understanding your circumstances, what you have been through and how it contributes to where you are right now. At the end of this session, you can expect to set goals along with your therapist.

Follow up sessions After your initial assessment and goal setting, your therapist will work with you to uncover and understand yourself better. Once you are able to accept yourself as you are, you will be better able to implement changes in your life and achieve your goals.

Veena Nobbay
– Advanced Center for Psychotherapy, New York; – Jewish Community Center, Manhattan;
– Seraniti, Bangalore

I have worked therapeutically with adolescents and adults for the past four years. I graduated from Steinhardt, New York University with a Masters degree in Counselling for Mental Health and Wellness in May 2015. I believe that an open and genuine relationship between a therapist and client is one of the most crucial aspects of the counselling process.

Rebecca Mathews

I did my Master’s in Counselling Psychology from CHRIST University and have worked with both children and adults. I believe that the collaboration of the client and therapist in creating a safe space for acceptance and growth is vital for any therapy style to work. Clients feeling like they can be transparent and comfortable in a session is most important to me.

Thank you

I have a Masters degree in Counselling Psychology and have experience working with children, adolescents and young adults. I have previously counselled clients with anxiety, self-esteem, emotional regulation, grief, life changes and relationship concerns. My aim is to create a collaborative safe space of warmth and comfort that is trauma-informed and queer-friendly. I speak English, Hindi and Bengali.
